CHOQUEKIRAU- MACHUPICCHU CIRCUIT 9 DAYS AND 8 NIGHTS
DAY 1.- CUSCO – ROSALINA.- We leave Cusco at 6am, picking them up from your hotel, 15 minutes after ascending to the TIKA-TIKA area, we will see the snowy mountains of Salkantay, Umantay (Vilcabamba chain) and later Veronica, Pitusiray and The Sawasiray (chain of the Urubamba). On the tour you will be able to
Observe the fields of cultivation, combined with the breeding of cattle, sheep, horses, and goats. Approximately at 10 in the morning we will arrive at the Cachora Inn, where we will organize with the muleteers to undertake our trek. In total they are about 60m kilometers in and out.
The first 10 kilometers of route is mainly flat, our lunch will be in the viewpoint of Kapuliyoq. Then we will descend another ten kilometers to spend the night in the site of Chiquisqa – Rosalina.
DAY 2.- ROSALINA – MARANPATA – CHOQUEKIRAU.- Passing the Rosalina Bridge we will ascend about Four hours, in the tours we will find some refuges like: Santa Rosa, Maranpata, Sunchupata. After lunch we will walk about two hours and arrive at Choquekirau at Puerta del Sol.
DAY 3.- CHOQUEKIRAU.- You will be able to witness the sunrise in the early morning, then you will have a guided tour of this Inca Archaeological Complex, built on the mountainside and considered as the Last Refuge of the Inkas. It is located to the Northeast of the City at 3,100 m.s.n.m.
DAY 4.- CHOQUEKIRAU – MAIZAL.- This route is combined with ascents and descents, some places of plain.
DAY 5.- MAIZAL – YANAMA.- It ascends to (yuraq mayu) Rio Blanco to then continue to the Community of Yanama.
DAY 6.- YANAMA – TOTORA – QOLLPAPAMPA.- We will leave very early, the ascent will take approximately 5 hours, after Abra Yanama, we will descend towards Totora – Qollpapampa.
DAY 7.- QOLLPAPAMPA – PATALLAQTA.- We continue descending gradually until Sawayaku, place of the Lunch later we will ascend toward Patallaqta our camp.
DAY 8.- PATALLAQTA – HIDROELECTRICA – MACHUPICCHU.- Two hours of descent to the Hydroelectric, from there we go to the town of Machupicchu, Puente Ruinas.
DAY 9.- MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO.- Guided visit of Machupicchu and in the afternoon we will return to Cusco by train.
