Trip Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival to Arequipa – City Tour & Santa Catalina Monastery
Upon arrival to Arequipa, reception and transfer to your hotel – Our Arequipa tour will commence at 2:00PM, after your hotel pick-up. Arequipa is also called the white city, as the buildings in the city are made from the white-colored volcanic stone Sillar. One of the attractions of the city is Main Square. This is the Convent of Santa Catalina, established in 1580 and is among Peru’s most beautiful convents.
Another site you will visit is Monastery of Santa Catalina. As it is like a small-scaled Spanish city, it is dubbed “a city within a city”, complete with stone streets and plaza. It is truly an artistic wonder, showcasing Spanish American art. The place became a monastery after it played the role of providing sanctuary to upper class women in the colonial age. These women directed the place towards a holy purpose.
The tour then takes you to see the church of the Society of Jesus. You can view some amazing paintings in this local baroque art masterpiece and the experience of walk the halls outlined by beautiful fresco is something you should not miss. Lastly, your visit to Yanahuara and Carmen Alto’s housing districts will have you witnessing the breathtaking beauty of the Arequipeños terraces, the Misti Chachani and Pichu Pichu volcanoes and city center. After this we will transport you back to your hotel. Overnight at the Hotel in Arequipa

We will ascend further to a mountainous and splendid 4500m height, passing “Tocra” on the way. You can take in the beauty of beautiful lakes in the area, and take pictures of “Altiplano”, which is the world’s largest high plateau area, behind Tibetan plateau.
